Mikey serves as the Lead Business Crime Liaison Officer for Hampshire at UKPartners Against Crime an online Business Crime Reduction Partnership connecting retail, hospitality, and rural businesses with police, crime prevention specialists, and legal professionals. With over 15 years of experience in security and licensed retail, Mikey is passionate about building safer, more inclusive environments for both businesses and the communities they support.
He remains actively involved in the nighttime economy as a door supervisor, bringing a practical, on the ground perspective to his work. His commitment to driving meaningful change is exemplified by his involvement with venues like the Frog andFrigate in Southampton, where he played a key role in improving safety practices among door staff and bar teams, particularly in protecting women and vulnerable individuals.
Mikey’s approach is hands-on and impact driven. He encourages venues to adopt robust crime reporting systems, compiles detailed evidence packs including body cam and CCTV footage and conducts regular “Ask for Angela” tests to ensure staff are well-trained and proactive. He also advocates for preventive measures such as anti-drink spiking tools, contributing to a nightlife culture that is both safer and more welcoming.
