Councillor Maureen Cummings is the Labour councillor for Crofton, Ryhill & Walton. Maureen is Wakefield Council’s Violence Against Women and Girls Champion as part of efforts to reduce domestic violence across the district.
A cause close to her heart, work includes working with survivors and local specialist services to understand the impact of violence against women and girls in the district and develop a strategy to address this. Maureen was also the Communities Portfolio holder, covering campaigns such as Ask for Angela from 2024 to 2025.
