Arlene Henry
Coordinator, iCAT Derry/Londonderry
Arlene is joint co-ordinator of inner City Assistance Team of community volunteers who carry out patrols during the night time economy in and around Derry/Londonderry to the early hours making sure those in distress or difficulty are kept safe.
Team members are trained safeguarding leads and first response emergency care and mental health first aid trained, ensuring there is someone available to help when called upon. iCAT won the River Radio Inspirational Project of the Year Award 2024 and Arlene was awarded Most Inspirational Woman in the Community 2024 by Women’s Magazine.
iCATs accolades don’t stop there, winning the Derry Journal Community Champion Award for 2025 and being presented with a civic reception by the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane in 2026.
Arlene is passionate and dedicated about the Ask for Angela scheme and encourages establishments to introduce the scheme to their premises.
